Get Started Volunteering

There's lots to do at the Elk County Humane Society from cleaning animal pens to walking dogs and cuddling the cats! Getting started is easy. All you need to do is show up. Yup, that's it.
Once you get here, we'll have you fill out our volunteer forms, which only takes a few minutes, and then you can get started right away. You can do whatever it is that interests you most whether that means spending time with the dogs, hanging with the cats, or even just assisting with fundraising events. Whatever you can do, the animals (and the staff) will thank you for it. Volunteers are welcomed to join us cleaning dog and cat kennels at 8:00 am every morning or for dog walking and cat cuddling from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We would love your help 365 days a year! Every cent helps, and without the generosity of local communities we would not be able to what we do.
Become a MemberWith a membership, you will get access to our newsletter, which will help keep you in the loop with the latest happenings at the ECHS. You will also be able to vote in our annual membership meeting. A single membership is $20, Family $25, and $55 for buisnesses.

Sponsor A PenFor a $200 donation, you can have a tag customized with the name of your choice hung on one of our dog or cat kennels to honor your generosity. Memberships are included with this donation!

Memorialize a Loved OneMemorials hold a special page in our newsletter and a lovely acknowledgement is sent to an address given by you. This is a great way to remember beloved pets, family, and friends.
